New Brunswick Nursing Licensing Exam Prep: Free Diagnostic Access

Free, one-week access to CCEC's diagnostic tests for the nursing licensing exams used in New Brunswick: the CPNRE (licensed practical nurses), the NCLEX-RN (registered nurses) and the CNPLE (nurse practitioners). Take the diagnostic for your exam and see your results by area before your exam date. No fee, no lectures and no scheduled sessions.

Is this exam for you?

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Exam: CPNRE (Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination). Regulator: the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses (ANBLPN).
  • Registered Nurse (RN). Exam: NCLEX-RN. Regulator: the College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNNB).
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP). Exam: CNPLE (Canadian Nurse Practitioner Licensure Examination). Regulator: the College of Nursing of New Brunswick (CNNB).

The official exams

  • CPNRE: 160 to 170 multiple-choice questions, 4 hours, run by Meazure Learning.
  • NCLEX-RN: computer adaptive, 85 to 150 questions (15 of them unscored), up to 5 hours, booked through Pearson VUE.
  • CNPLE: about 180 to 185 multiple-choice questions, 4 hours, run by Meazure Learning.

What you get, free of charge

  • A timed diagnostic for your exam: 40 questions, one attempt, at the pace of the real exam, with instant scoring and a breakdown by area.
  • Access for one week from approval.

Ready for the area quizzes and timed mock exams? See Mock Exam Access (Standard CAD 29 per exam, Full Access CAD 49 per exam, New Brunswick Nursing Combo CAD 89).

Who can register

To register you need:

  • To be preparing for the CPNRE, NCLEX-RN or CNPLE as a candidate for registration with the New Brunswick regulator for your profession (CNNB or ANBLPN)
  • A valid government photo ID and proof of your exam booking or exam eligibility showing your exam date or writing window (uploaded with the Mock exam document upload form within 3 days of registering; the link is in your registration confirmation email)

Eligibility to write is decided by your regulator: CNNB for registered nurses and nurse practitioners and ANBLPN for licensed practical nurses. Registration requirements (for example education, language and practice requirements) are set by the regulator, not by CCEC.

How free registration works

  1. Complete the registration form, including the eligibility declaration. There is no payment step: your registration is submitted as soon as the form is complete. Then upload a copy of your government photo ID and proof of your exam booking or exam eligibility using the Mock exam document upload form (the link is in your registration confirmation email), with the same email address you registered with, within 3 days.
  2. Assessment. Your details and documents are checked against the eligibility requirements, usually within a few hours if everything is in order. If our Admissions team needs anything else, you are told exactly what to send and by when. If your documents have not arrived, you receive reminders, the first about 2 hours after registering.
  3. Access. If approved, you receive your access email with the link, your access code and your access end date, one week from approval. If not approved, you are told why.

One free registration

One free registration per person. Free Diagnostic Access cannot be extended or repeated; for continued access, register for Mock Exam Access.
