At Canadian Career Education College, we believe professional development should be accessible, flexible, and global. Our Short Study and Micro-Credential programs are designed for learners at every stage of their career, whether you are just starting out or looking to pivot into a new industry.

Who Can Apply?

We offer a "borderless" learning environment. Because these are short-duration professional development certificates, our admissions process is streamlined to get you started quickly.

  • Domestic & International Learners: There are no geographic restrictions for our online programs. You can study from anywhere in the world.

  • Visitors to Canada: If you are currently in Canada on a visitor visa, you are eligible to enroll in these short-term programs to upgrade your skills during your stay.

  • Career Changers & Lifelong Learners: Whether you are 18 or 80, our doors are open. We value experience as much as formal education.

Core Admission Requirements

To maintain a high standard of learning, applicants should meet the following simple criteria:

  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 16-18 years of age. There is no maximum age limit. We champion lifelong learning!

  • Educational Background: * Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or an equivalent high school diploma from your home province or country.

    • Higher Credentials: Degrees or diplomas from recognized colleges or universities are also accepted.

    Mature Student Status: If you do not have a high school diploma but are over the age of 18, you may apply under

International Applicant "Fast-Facts"

  • No Study Permit Required: Because these programs are under 6 months in duration, foreign nationals do not require a formal Canadian Study Permit to participate.

  • No PAL Required: A Provincial Attestation Letter is not necessary for these professional development courses.

  • Global Access: Our Online/Distance learning format allows you to earn a Canadian-issued Professional Certificate without the need for travel or relocation.

Required Documentation Checklist

1. Government Issued Identification Provide a clear copy of a valid photo ID. Accepted documents include a Passport Bio Data Page, a Government ID card, or any official photo identification issued by a recognized authority.

2. Age Requirement Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration. We welcome lifelong learners and there is no maximum age limit for our programs.

3. Educational Credentials (Standard Academic Applicant) Provide a copy of your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent high school certificate. If you hold a higher degree or diploma, that is also accepted.

  • International Credentials: Applicants with education from outside Canada must provide an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) where applicable to verify equivalency.

4. Mature Student Applicant (MSA) Status If you do not possess a high school diploma or GED, you may apply under Mature Student Status. This status is available to applicants who are at least 19 years of age. This pathway is designed to recognize the professional skills, work history, and life experience you have gained since leaving formal education.

5. Proof of Name Change (If Applicable) If the name on your government ID does not match the name on your educational transcripts, you must provide legal proof of a name change, such as a Name Change Affidavit.

  • Important Note: Please be advised that marriage certificates are not accepted as proof of a legal name change for registration purposes.
