Must meet the minimum admission requirements prescribed in Section 19 of O.reg 415/06 (https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/060415):

  • Student has an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, OR
    • Is 18 years of age or older on or before the program begins AND can pass a qualifying test that has been approved by the Superintendent

Note:

  • Other academic qualifications or minimum age requirements may be established as a condition of the Superintendent's approval of the program
  • Any additional admission requirements established by the career college for the program and approved by the Superintendent.

All questions are mandatory. Some answers have been pre-populated.  Make the necessary corrections if needed.  For Yes answers, provide a detailed description as required in the text box.

Post secondary certificate, diploma or degree – Sometimes a program is not entry-level training, and some previous credential is needed. Identify if a certificate, diploma or degree is required as a prerequisite for admission to the program, not if it would also meet the minimum requirement.

Alternate admissions test - Name and describe the tests used when a student cannot provide an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent.  You must provide a rationale for why this test is being used to admit a student to this program. Explain what the test measures, how scoring works and why it is appropriate for this purpose.  Also include the mark required to pass. You will be required to provide a sample of this test as a supporting document.

Non-academic requirements - Such as medical certificate, police check or technology or equipment requirements or attendance requirements for in-person instruction.

Advanced Standing –. Provide a clear, detailed description of how previous knowledge and experience is assessed for credits or advanced standing in the program by your career college. This is where your policy is laid out in the application.

Scholarships/Bursaries – Identify any scholarships or bursaries that are available to students through your career college for this program only.

Entry-to-practice requirements - If there are requirements for graduates to enter the field that they have trained for a list should be provided. Examples are qualifying exams, licensing requirements, vulnerable sector screening immunizations."
