Admission Requirements: Health Care Services Short Programs

List A: Medical Administration and OHIP Revenue Programs

Provide one of the following:

• An Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
• A secondary school or university credential from your home country. A Canadian equivalency report is not required for initial enrolment in these short certificates.
• Mature Student Status, based on a basic proficiency assessment, if you do not have a secondary school diploma. See Mature Student Status.
• A recognized Canadian health care credential, such as a PSW certificate, an SSW diploma, or an RPN licence.
• Evidence of current or recent employment (within the last 24 months) in a related occupation.

Program-Specific Requirements

• Ontario Health Billing and Revenue Optimization: successful completion of Advanced Medical Lexicon and Diagnostic Decoding, or proof of a prior medical background.
• Digital Health Records and Systems Management: basic computer literacy and a typing speed of 30 words per minute are recommended.
• Technical note: a computer running Windows 10 or 11 is required for the billing software modules. Mac users receive alternative theory assignments.

List B: Specialized Clinical and Remediation Skills

These programs involve technical or hands-on clinical protocols. Some require health or security clearances.
