Newfoundland and Labrador Nursing Licensing Exam Prep: Mock Exam Access

100% online, self-paced access to mock exams for the nursing licensing exams used in Newfoundland and Labrador: the NCLEX-RN (registered nurses) and the CPNRE (licensed practical nurses). Each exam has a diagnostic test, area quizzes with an explanation for every answer, and four full-length timed mock exams that follow the exam's published test plan or blueprint. No lectures and no scheduled sessions: you register, your eligibility is assessed, and you take the mock exams online before your exam.

Not sure yet? Start with the Free Diagnostic Access (one week, no fee) and come back for the quizzes and mock exams.

Is this exam for you?

  • Registered Nurse (RN). Exam: NCLEX-RN. Regulator: the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses (NL College of Nurses).
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Exam: CPNRE (Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination). Regulator: the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses (NL College of Nurses).

Not covered: jurisprudence exams, the exams of other provinces (each province has its own registration) and the Quebec OIIQ and OIIAQ exams.

The official exams

  • NCLEX-RN: computer adaptive, 85 to 150 questions (15 of them unscored), up to 5 hours, booked through Pearson VUE.
  • CPNRE: 160 to 170 multiple-choice questions, 4 hours, run by Meazure Learning.

What you get

  • Standard Access (CAD 29 per exam): the diagnostic (40 questions, one attempt), the area quizzes (10 questions each, untimed, unlimited attempts) and four full-length timed mock exams with four attempts each, with results by email. Access: 30 days from approval, or until your exam date if that comes first.
  • Full Access (CAD 49 per exam): the same tests with eight attempts per mock exam, access until your exam date and the CCEC guarantee.
  • Newfoundland and Labrador Nursing Combo (CAD 89): Full Access to NCLEX-RN and CPNRE, until your exam date, with the CCEC guarantee.

Per exam: NCLEX-RN: 8 area quizzes, mock exams of 150 questions in 5 hours; CPNRE: 3 area quizzes, mock exams of 165 questions in 4 hours. The CCEC readiness mark on every mock exam is 75%; it is not the official pass standard.

CCEC guarantee (Full Access and Combo). If you do not pass the official exam on your first attempt, you can have one further access period to the same Full Access, until your new exam date, at no charge. Send your official result notice and your new exam date through the support form. This is not a cash refund.

Who can register

To register you need:

  • To be preparing for the NCLEX-RN or CPNRE as a candidate for registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses (NL College of Nurses)
  • A valid government photo ID and proof of your exam booking or exam eligibility showing your exam date or writing window (uploaded with the Mock exam document upload form within 3 days of registering; the link is in your registration confirmation email)

Eligibility to write is decided by the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses. Registration requirements (for example education, language and practice requirements) are set by the regulator, not by CCEC.

How registration works

  • Choose your exam and access type and complete the registration form, including the eligibility declaration. Then upload a copy of your government photo ID and proof of your exam booking or exam eligibility using the Mock exam document upload form (the link is in your registration confirmation email), with the same email address you registered with, within 3 days.
  • Pay online by credit card at the end of the form. An unpaid registration is cancelled automatically after 15 minutes, and you can register again at any time.
  • Assessment. Your details and documents are checked against the eligibility requirements, usually within a few hours if everything is in order. If our Admissions team needs anything else, you are told exactly what to send and by when. If your documents have not arrived, you receive reminders, the first about 2 hours after registering.
  • Access. If approved, you receive your access email with the link, your access code and your access end date. If not approved, you are told why, and your fee is refunded in full by the same payment method within 2 to 3 business days.
