    ​​​​“Mature Student Status” or “Mature Student Assessment”
    ​Mature student status may be granted to applicants who are over 19 years old and do not have a high school diploma or GED. It is intended to allow applicants who have not completed high school the opportunity to be considered for admission based on the skills and experience they have acquired since leaving school.

    If a prospective student does not have a grade 12 education certificate which is equivalent to a Canadian secondary school certificate due to any reason, the college will still consider the student for admission to its programs if the student passes a qualifying test that has been approved by the Superintendent (The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Ontario).

    Modern law firms rely on their assistants to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently. The Legal Administrative Assistant program at C.C.E. College will provide you with the hands-on training you need to start a career in the challenging and rewarding field of law.

    The Legal Administration Assistant program at C.C.E. College will assist you in strengthening your computer, administration, and communication skills for a law office/practice. You’ll also learn legal procedures and terminology and study a range of areas of law including family law, corporate law, litigation procedures, real estate law, wills and estates, and more.

    As a professional Legal Office Administrator, sometimes referred to as a Legal Secretary, you'll work closely with lawyers, prosecutors, and public defenders and be directly involved in legal proceedings. You'll provide administrative assistance and support to these professionals in a legal environment.

    • Recording Appointments and Court Dates
    • Maintaining Corporate Documents and Filings
    • Drafting Court/Legal Documents and Correspondence
