Pharmacy Assistant Diploma
A full-time diploma that builds the clerical, administrative, and customer service skills needed to assist a pharmacist in community pharmacy practice. Canadian Career Education College (CCEC) delivers the program in English.
Program Overview
Pharmacy assistants work under the direction of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician. Tasks include filling prescriptions, packing and labelling products, maintaining prescription records and medication inventories, compounding, and handling sales.

Admission Requirements
Academic Requirement
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or Mature Student Status. See Domestic Admission Requirements and International Admission Requirements.
Mature Student Status
An applicant who does not have an OSSD or equivalent may be admitted as a mature student if the applicant is 18 years of age or older and passes a qualifying test approved by the Superintendent of Career Colleges (Ontario Regulation 415/06, section 19). See Mature Student Status.

Delivery and Enrolment
Domestic Students
Canadian citizens and permanent residents study in class at the Vaughan campus. No internship or placement is required.
International Students
This program is delivered in class only and runs longer than six months, so international students need a valid study permit.
There is no off-campus practicum. Hands-on training takes place through the on-campus pharmacy practical.
