Admission Policy

Admission Policy

Canadian Career Education College (Can College) maintains an inclusive and professional admissions process for all short-duration certificate programs. These programs are designed for skill upgrading and professional development and do not fall under the vocational approval requirements of the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.

1. Eligibility and Requirements

To be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration. There is no maximum age limit.

  • Academic Background: Applicants must provide a copy of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or a recognized equivalent. Higher degrees or diplomas are also accepted.

  • Mature Student Status (MSA): Applicants who are 19 years of age or older and do not possess a high school diploma may apply under Mature Student Status. Admission will be based on relevant professional experience and skills.

  • Identification: A valid government-issued photo ID is required for all registrations.

2. Application and Enrollment Process

  • New Applicants: Must select Option 3A in the application portal and provide a valid email address to create a Learning Management System (LMS) profile.

  • Continuing Students: Students wishing to move to a new module within the same program must contact the Admissions Office via email for a manual extension.

  • New Trade Enrollment: Current students wishing to enroll in a different skilled trade must use a unique email address and select Option 4A to create a separate student record.

  • Mandatory Documentation: Once the initial application is submitted, students receive an email link to upload required documents. All documents must be uploaded within 3 business days. Failure to complete this step will result in the automatic deletion of the application.

3. International and Visitor Status

  • Geographic Flexibility: Online programs have no geographic restrictions.

  • Permit Status: These programs are under six months in duration and do not require a Canadian Study Permit or a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL).

  • Visitors: Individuals visiting Canada are eligible to enroll in these short-term certifications.

  • Work Permits: Completion of these programs does not qualify a student for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Refund Policy & Process

Due to the short-term nature and immediate delivery of digital resources for these professional development programs, the following refund terms apply:

1. Non-Refundable Fees

  • Administrative Fees: Any registration or administrative fees ($50-100) paid at the time of application are non-refundable.

  • Tax Status: All programs are GST/HST exempt for all applicants.

2. Withdrawal and Refund Eligibility

  • Before Program Access: A refund of the tuition fee (minus administrative fees) may be requested if the withdrawal notice is received in writing at least 7 business days before the program start date or the delivery of course materials.

  • After Program Access: Once a student has been granted access to the Learning Management System (LMS) or once program materials (PDFs, videos, or syllabi) have been delivered via email, no refunds will be issued.

  • Exam Prep Sessions: Fees for the 2 to 3 hour Exam Prep lectures (such as NCA Prep) are non-refundable once the registration is processed, as these sessions provide immediate access to proprietary study materials.

3. Course Cancellation

In the event that Can College cancels a scheduled live session or program, students will be offered a full refund of the tuition fee or the option to transfer their registration to a future date at no extra cost.

4. The C.C.E.C. Guarantee

For specific comprehensive exam prep courses, if a student fails their professional licensing exam, they are entitled to a one-time retake of the course in a live online or recorded format at no additional charge. This guarantee does not constitute a cash refund but ensures the student can reach their educational goal.

Acknowledgement: By proceeding with enrollment and payment, the student confirms they have read, understood, and agreed to the Admission and Refund policies outlined above.

Refund requests can be submitted via this online refund form or contact accounts team via email

Refund Processing Time

  • Standard Timeline: The standard refund process time is 15 to 30 business days.

  • Commencement of Timeline: This processing window begins only from the date the college receives a fully completed Refund Request Form. Incomplete forms will delay the processing time.
