What Is the T2202?
- The T2202 Tuition and Enrolment Certificate is an official statement for income tax purposes. It is issued to students who paid eligible tuition fees for qualifying courses.
- You use it to claim the non-refundable federal tuition tax credit on line 32300 of your tax return. The credit reduces the tax you owe. (The federal education and textbook amounts ended in 2017.)
How You Receive It
- The College files T2202 forms with the CRA by the end of February and sends each student a paper or PDF copy.
- Forms are sent to the email and mailing address in your College LMS record. Keep your contact details up to date at all times. If your details were wrong, you may not receive the form.
- If you are reading this after March 15, your form has already been sent. Check your inbox and spam folder, and confirm your email and mailing address in the LMS.
Duplicate or Corrected Copy
If you lost your T2202, did not receive it, or believe it is not accurate:
- Log in to your LMS profile, choose Edit My Profile, and make sure your contact details are correct.
- In your LMS profile, open Invoices and Finance Information. Add up the tuition fees you paid in the calendar year (January 1 to December 31). Do not include other years.
- Download the blank T2202 sample (PDF). Fill in the College data from the sample and your personal information. It must match your College LMS profile. You need PDF software to fill in the form.
- Save the form with the date and email it to Accounts Administration. Allow 2 to 3 business days for validation. Incomplete forms are not processed and must be sent again.
