Short Certificate and CPD Course Disclaimer

1. Regulatory Status

“This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.”

CCEC is registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005. The courses covered by this disclaimer do not require approval under that Act. They are short, skill-focused professional development courses and are not approved vocational diploma programs.

2. Nature of the Credential

On successful completion of all required modules and payment of all fees, CCEC issues a Professional Certificate. Students who complete individual modules receive a Certificate of Completion for each module. These are private educational credentials issued by CCEC. They are not a degree, a diploma, a government-issued licence, or a certification from a regulatory body.

3. Licensing and Regulated Professions

No course covered by this disclaimer grants a licence, registration, or legal authority to practise a regulated profession or trade. Requirements differ by province, territory, and country. Each student is responsible for confirming the requirements that apply where they intend to work.

4. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Credit

Course materials are designed to support continuing professional development. Acceptance of course hours for CPD credit is at the sole discretion of the student’s regulatory body, professional association, or employer. Students must confirm eligibility with that organization before registering.

5. Admission and Employment

• Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
• CCEC does not guarantee employment, job placement, or salary outcomes. Results depend on prior experience, labour market conditions, and employer requirements.

6. International Applicants

• These courses run less than six months. A study permit and a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) are not required.
• Completion does not qualify a student for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and does not support any application for a study permit, work permit, or permanent residence.
• Students studying in Canada are responsible for holding valid immigration status that allows short-term study.
• Students outside Canada must confirm that the credential meets the licensing and employment rules of their own jurisdiction.

7. Delivery, Attendance, and Assessment

Each course is offered either 100% online or 100% in person at the Vaughan campus, as stated on the course page.

• Online: self-paced study through the College learning management system (LMS) with instructor support. Students are responsible for managing their own study schedule after course materials are released.
• In person: attendance requirements are set out in the course syllabus. Failure to meet them may affect certification.
• Assessment: written examinations are completed online and are open-book. Practical skills are assessed in class or through instructor-monitored online evaluations, depending on the format.
• Technology: online students must meet the College System Requirements.

8. Educational Purpose and Accuracy

All course content is provided for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Laws, codes, and industry standards change. CCEC updates materials regularly, but students are responsible for following current legislation, workplace policies, and professional judgment when applying what they learn.
