Health Care Services Short Programs
Five-module certificates in health care administration and specialized clinical support. They suit newcomers building Canadian context and career changers looking for a focused start in health care.
List A: Medical Administration and OHIP Revenue
For detail-oriented learners who want to work in clinics, hospitals, or private practices. These programs focus on the business side of health care: billing, records, and patient flow.
Ontario Health Billing and Revenue Optimization
OHIP claims, the Schedule of Benefits, rejections and reconciliation, and revenue recovery.
Certificate in Digital Health Records and Systems Management
Electronic medical records (EMR), health privacy and security, and health information systems.
Certificate in Patient Care Coordination and Medical Office Flow
Triage, scheduling, virtual care administration, and care coordination.
Certificate in Advanced Medical Lexicon and Diagnostic Decoding
Medical terminology and clinical report language for working alongside clinicians.
List B: Specialized Clinical and Remediation Skills
For learners who prefer hands-on, technical, or specialized care work.
Certificate in Bio-Recovery and Trauma Site Restoration Specialist
Biosafety, decontamination, trauma and forensic cleaning protocols, and biomedical waste handling.
Certificate in Clinical Sterilization and Device Reprocessing (MDR Tech)
Decontamination, surgical instrument assembly, sterilization, and sterile storage.
Certificate in Neuro-Care and Responsive Behaviour Documentation
Dementia support, responsive behaviours, and objective behaviour documentation in senior care.
Certificate in Holistic Palliative Support and Grief Navigation
Palliative care principles, comfort care, family communication, and grief support.
How the Modules Work
- Structure: five modules per program
- Module length: 15 to 40 hours, completed in 2 to 4 weeks
- Tuition: $390 per module under the Pay As You Learn Fee Structure, or all modules as a bundle (see each program page)
- Credential: a Certificate of Completion for each module; completing all five modules leads to the program certificate
- Delivery: 100% online or in person at the Vaughan campus
- Application deadline: at least 30 days before the start date
- No maximum age limit

Important Information
- This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
- Canadian Career Education College (CCEC) is registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005. These are short professional development programs for skill upgrading and career transition. They do not qualify a graduate for registration with a regulatory body or for professional licensing.
- These certificates do not qualify a graduate to work as a regulated health professional, such as a nurse.
- The Ontario Health Billing and Digital Health Records programs use simulated or anonymized health information. Students must follow the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA) and must not use real patient data during their studies.
- The Bio-Recovery and Trauma Site Restoration certificate is a CCEC certificate. It does not grant a provincial or federal licence. Students may pursue industry certification, such as IICRC certification, separately.
- Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR Tech) students are responsible for checking each employer’s hiring requirements, which may include a certification exam.
- List B programs with in-person labs may require a Police Vulnerable Sector Check and up-to-date immunization records before the lab portion begins. Without them, a student may not be able to complete the clinical portion.
- All fees are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Instalment plans require a signed financial agreement. Refunds follow the College refund policy provided before enrolment.
- International applicants do not need a study permit or a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) for these programs, which run less than six months. Completion does not qualify a student for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Applicants are responsible for making sure their status allows short-term study in Canada.
- CCEC does not guarantee employment, job placement, or salary. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
- In-person students must meet the attendance requirements in the course syllabus. Not meeting them may result in the certificate being withheld. Online students manage their own study schedule once course materials are released.
