    Medical administrative assistants perform a variety of secretarial and administrative duties in doctor's offices, hospitals, medical clinics and other medical settings. Career Transitions for Internationally Trained Health Professionals (ITHP) is a comprehensive employment preparation program that provides focused training to help participants transition their skills and knowledge into healthcare-related roles. This unique opportunity helps learners attain non-licensed healthcare employment in areas such as health research, health informatics, data analysis, and health administration (alternative careers in healthcare). Learners obtain more than just in-demand skills and knowledge – they are provided a supportive bridge to building a successful future in Canada.

    Employment requirements

    • Completion of secondary school is usually required.
    • Completion of a one- or two-year college program or other specialized courses for secretaries or medical secretaries is usually required.
