Electrical Technician Professional Certificate
A focused, five-module certificate that builds the electrical theory, code knowledge, and practical wiring skills needed to work as an assistant to licensed electricians in Ontario. Register for individual modules as continuing professional development (CPD), or take all modules as a bundle.

Single Module (CPD)
Register for one or more modules to upgrade a specific skill, such as the OESC.
- Time: 15 to 40 hours per module (2 to 4 weeks)
- Tuition: $390 per module
- Best for: working electricians, technicians, and internationally trained professionals
- Credential: Certificate of Completion for each module
All Modules as a Bundle
Complete all five modules for a comprehensive foundation in electrical theory, code, and practice.
- Tuition: $1,800 (a saving of $150 over five single modules)
- Best for: career changers and new entrants to the trade
- Credential: Professional CPD Certificate

Admission Requirements
Academic
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent; or
- Mature Student Assessment (MSA) for applicants aged 19 or older without a secondary school diploma. Learn about mature student status.
- Basic computer literacy is strongly recommended.
- There is no maximum age limit.
International Applicants
- Applicants from any country are welcome.
- This program runs less than six months. A study permit and a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) are not required.
- Completion does not qualify a student for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Delivery and Assessment
100% Online
Self-paced study through the College learning management system (LMS), with real-time instructor support. Practical skills are assessed through instructor-monitored online evaluations.
100% In Person (Vaughan Campus)
Instructor-led classes with hands-on labs. Attendance requirements are set out in the course syllabus.
In both formats, written examinations are completed online and are open-book. LMS orientation details are provided to all students before classes begin. Online students must meet the College System Requirements.

- The certificate is an educational credential. It is not a licence to work as a 309A or 442A electrician in Ontario. Licensure requires apprenticeship registration with Skilled Trades Ontario and documented work hours.
