Program Overview
This 440-hour program focuses on continuing professional development and skill upgrading. It is designed for people who already have the knowledge needed for an entry-level position and want to update or deepen it. The program covers complex medical data decoding and scientific terminology without repeating entry-level foundations.
For internationally trained professionals, the program connects existing expertise with the technical and regulatory language used in Canadian health care.

Admission Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent; or
- Mature Student Status for applicants without a secondary school diploma. See Mature Student Status.

- Online students should have basic computer literacy.

Important Information
- This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
- This is a professional development and skill upgrading program for people who already have the skills and knowledge for an entry-level position in the field. It does not qualify a graduate for registration with a regulatory body or for professional licensing.
- International applicants do not need a study permit or a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) for programs of six months or less, or for distance learning. Completion does not qualify a student for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Applicants are responsible for making sure their status allows study in Canada.
- CCEC does not guarantee employment, job placement, or salary. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
