Admission Offer:
Designated Learning Institutions
A Designated Learning Institution (DLI) is a college or university that has approval from the government of Canada to host international students. In Ontario, each public institution has a unique DLI number. Private institutions do not have DLI numbers.
Proving your acceptance to a DLI
It is the law that you will need to provide a copy of your original acceptance letter from a DLI when you apply for a study permit. (Digital Copies via email are acceptable)
If you don't have a valid and authentic LOA from a DLI, you will not be able to apply for a study permit. (Use this link to explore the IRCC Regulations)
Completing conditions in your acceptance letter
Read your acceptance letter closely. There may be requirements you need to meet before being admitted into your program of choice.
If you need to finish any prerequisites, such as a course or program, before admission, the school will give you a conditional letter of acceptance. You will need to submit a copy of this letter when you apply to enter Canada.
Your study permit will cover the length of the prerequisite course or program plus one year. Once you complete the conditions in the acceptance letter, you will need to apply for a new study permit and show that you have met all admission requirements. If you do not meet the conditions in the letter, your offer of admission may be revoked.
Canadian Career Education College's LOA (Letter of Acceptance) Policy (V.128-2025)*
Effective Januray 28, 2025 the following policy is applicable to all and will be applied until further notice.
Each college and university has a different process after acceptance. Follow the instructions from the institution and check their website for more information.
1. Accepted: If your letter indicates you have been accepted into your program, the next step is for you to confirm your intention to come to Can-College by sending your confirmation fee payment. Full instructions are in your Letter of Acceptance.
2. Accepted with Conditions: If your acceptance letter indicates you are accepted with conditions, it will include a list of one or more conditions that you must meet to earn a seat in your program. You should work to meet these conditions as soon as possible. Your seat in your program is not secured until we have received verification that all conditions have been met.
A condition may be as simple as making a tuition fee instalment payment in advance or providing additional academic documentation, or it might be something like needing to upgrade English or math skills. Your Letter of Acceptance will have all the information.
3. PAL - If applicable and approved by the Provincial or federal Government, the college will process PAL on your behalf. This process may take 15 to 30 business days. If the college is unable to issue PAL, we will be considering refund of fees to all eligible students who have applied for admission after January 22, 2024.
4. LOA Deferrals and Extensions due to a delay in the visa-permit process: If for any reason you wish to change the date or defer your admission to a different session, it is will be subject to the availability of seats at that time. Unfortunately in this situation, we may not be able to offer you a seat in the program and session that you have chosen. Please read our deferral policy bellow.
